Child Care Search: Our Child Care Navigators have access to a database of all licensed and registered child care programs in Erie County. Based on a family’s specific needs (ages, location, schedule), a list of programs is created and given by phone, email, fax, mail, or in-person.
Child Care Planning: Every family’s situation is unique. Our Child Care Navigators can listen to the wants and needs of each client and help them to form a plan around:
- The type of care that is the best fit:
- Family or Group Family Day Care (takes place in a provider’s home)
- Day Care Center
- School Age Child Care
- Legally Exempt Care (usually a family member or friend)
- Alternative care options (bringing someone into the family’s home, preschool/nursery school programs, etc.)
- Making child care affordable
- Assessing the quality of care
- Connection to other community resources
